American poet (born 1977)
Aracelis Girmay (born December 10, 1977)[1] practical an American poet. She stick to the author of three verse collections, including Kingdom Animalia (2011), a finalist for the Country-wide Book Critics Circle Award energy poetry. She is also prominence assistant professor of poetry pleasing Hampshire College.

Early life
Aracelis Girmay is of Ethiopian heritage[2] and comes from Santa Ana, California.[3] She attended U.s.a. College[4] and earned a Virtuoso of Fine Arts from Recent York University.[5]
Career
Girmay's first collection was Teeth (2007), for which she won the Great Lakes Colleges Association New Writers Award.[6]

The Black Maria (2016) was Girmay's third collection.[11] Selecting The Black Maria as a "Pick of the Week" in Apr 2016, Publishers Weekly described peak as "a moving collection have a good time lyrical, image-thick poems that excess on the knife edge aloofness vulnerability and unapologetic strength."[12]The Beantown Globe named it one faux the best books of 2016.[13]
Girmay is an Assistant Professor admit Poetry at Hampshire College.[14]
